THE PIPE The tobacco pipe is not only a smoking instrument but an object of art and beauty as well as a heirloom. The pipe has been made from many materials over time from clay, stone, porcelain, metal, amber, meerschaum to briar and just about any other material you can think of. Most of all a tobacco pipe is created for the pleasure of the user this why each and every handmade pipe is different and crafted to the users specification.

THE PIPE SMOKER The pipe smoker is a somewhat dignified and thoughtfull chap who derives pleasure not from nicotine, but from the ritual of pipe smoking and the taste of the many and varied tobacco blends available today.

THE PIPE MAKER As a custom pipemaker I find it a pleasure to provide a customer with an original, handmade pipe. The pipe is a much cherished object that can stay with a person throughout their life in both artform and function.

Not only can we create a new pipe for you but we can also repair and refurbish your old favorite to a near new condition. We also specialise in making custom bowls for metal stemmed pipes in briar and corn cob.

My pipes are made from the root burl of E. Arborea, commonly known as White Heath or briar. It is the most common traditional pipe wood which is still harvested by hand. Each briar block undergoes a preparation process whcih inludes; cutting, boiling to remove saps and drying for long periods. Briar is the ideal material for making pipes due to it’s mechanical strength, water absorbtion and heat resistant qualities.
